RESUMEN
El carcinoma de células basales (CCB) es el cáncer de piel más frecuente a nivel mundial, el factor de riesgo más asociado es la exposición intermitente a radiación ultravioleta, sin embargo, existen presentaciones poco habituales como en la zona palmar de la mano. La presentación clínica ocurre como placas eritematoescamosas de evolución crónica, no siendo la presentación más frecuente del CCB, es por lo que en muchos casos su diagnóstico se retrasa. El diagnóstico se confirma con la histopatología y una escisión quirúrgica completa disminuye el riesgo de recidivas. Se expone a continuación el caso clínico y una breve revisión de la literatura de una paciente con CBC en zona palmar.

ABSTRACT
Basal cell carcinoma (CCB) is the most frequent skin cancer worldwide, the most associated risk factor is intermittent exposure to ultraviolet radiation, however, there are unusual presentations such as in the palmar area of the hand. The clinical presentation occurs as erythematous squamous plaques of chronic evolution, not being the most frequent presentation of BCC, which is why in many cases its diagnosis is delayed. The diagnosis is confirmed by histopathology, and complete surgical excision decreases the risk of recurrence. The clinical case and a brief review of the literature of a patient with BCC in the palmar area are presented below.
