Abstract
Never before in the history of science has so much information been generated in real time on a health phenomenon as with COVID-19. The way of evaluating, approaching, diagnosing, treating, preventing and detecting the sequelae of this disease, from its appearance until the publication of this work, has been changing. Health professionals have faced one of the greatest challenges in their work, espe-cially in countries such as ours, where health systems show so many problems. The following review was elaborated from the consulta-tion of different bibliographic databases: Pubmed, Medline, Scopus, Lilacs, Science direct, Scielo, Ovid and official pages of PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) and WHO (World Health Organization) to contribute with scientific evidence on the clinical mani-festations, diagnosis and prevention of COVID-19, and to contribute to clinical practice.
Key words:SARS-CoV-2; COVID-19; Symptoms/signs; Immune response; Sequelae; Risk factors; Vaccines; New technologies.
